Since gaining the state independency, mobile operators in Montenegro have the responsibility to introduce the new mobile country code. The law defines the period of implementation of this code, which is by September 2011.
The Mobile country code is a part of every SIM card, and therefore all operators are obliged to provide all the customers new SIM cards, that is, replacing the existing ones.
Being a company that fully complies with the laws and regulations of Montenegro, we find it our duty to inform you in more detail about this legal regulation.
The new code of our network is 297 01, and it has been successfully implemented in technical systems and networks of our roaming partners. After the phase of implementation and testing, that Telenor worked on very hard during the previous year, we now have the appropriate conditions for replacement of the SIM cards of all of our customers.
Apart the new code, the new SIM cards have more active content, such as direct access to the balance inquiry, activation and deactivation of certain services, fun categories (horoscope, jokes, love puzzle) and the day by day more popular Facebook.
Furthermore, Telenor will perform this SIM replacement free of charge.
You will be informed about the timeframe and the procedure for the replacement in due course.
